BUILDING BOYS TO MEN INC.

A 501c3 non-profit dedicated to helping young men make the leap from boyhood to manhood.

Celebrating 10 Years!

And still reaching them where they are!

Follow us on TikTok. There are young men entering the same dire circumstances as they did 10 years ago when we got started, so we’re excited to reach a new audience on a new wave… TikTok.

And still offering a helping hand for young men!

For several years, BBTM has been offering real world hands-on experience in the form of apprenticeships and it’s about that time again. We’re starting up our next round of sessions this summer for interested young men who meet our criteria.

We began with painter’s apprenticeships and now we are expanding into electrical and carpentry. If you want to get your foot in the door with the skilled trades, then contact us today. Dial our hotline!

  • Partnering with Bartram High School and Resolve Philly to reach more youth with soft skills career development coming fall 2023.

WHAT WE DO...

Building Boys to Men has taken on different forms over the years…

We got our humble start out of Tilden Middle School in Southwest Philly which feeds into Bartram High just around the corner. During our first full cycle we tackled issues of conflict resolution, future planning, personal accountability, and academic mentorship. Our time at Tilden culminated with a year-end outing at Lemon Hill in Fairmount Park where we got to engage the young men in the spirit of fun and competition.

After we parted ways with Tilden, we set up shop in the South Philly YMCA with a new focus on after school curricula. We held community clean-ups, fundraisers, trips, athletic and academic challenges, as well as targeted speaking engagements.

Our latest endeavor is to narrow our focus even more by providing a small number of qualified young men the opportunity to develop paid hands-on training through our Painter’s Apprenticeship Program.

WHAT YOU CAN DO!

What we do isn’t possible without the cooperation and the contribution of the community at large. If you’d like to see further opportunities created for young men, then don’t hesitate to contribute to our CashApp, $buildingboystomeninc.

A strong work ethic and a solid financial base goes a long way.
